　　Zhang Rongqiao, chief designer of China's Tianwen 1 Mars mission. was named one of the 10 people"who were important in science"in 2021 by the top scientific magazine Nature.

　　The list.on Nature's website said Zhang led"China’s first successful Mars mission".The Tianwen 1.named after an ancient Chinese poem，was launched(發(fā)射) on July 23.2020.It finally touched down on the planet Mars on May 15, 2021, making China the second country,after the US, to have successfully finished a landing on the surface of Mars. The Chinese rover(探測(cè)器)Zhurong became the sixth vehicle to travel on the surface of Mars. It was expected to work for three months on Mars.However, as of April 6, 2022,it had worked on the planet Mars for about 337days,traveled more than 1,875 meters and collected lots of information for scientific study.

　　Born in March 1966 in Anhui province Zhang studied at local schools until he went to Xidian University in Shaanxi province in 1982 In 1988, he received bachelor’s（學(xué)士)degree.Then he continued study at the China Academy of Space Technology in Beijing .

　　After graduating in 1991, Zhang started working at the academy's Beijing Institute of Satellite Information Engineering. In 2004,he was named the chief engineer of the Lunar Exploration Center and has worked there since then.
