A painting worth £ 740,000 was damaged (毀壞)by a guard in Russia.His name was notmentioned but he was believed to be 60-vear-old and worked for a private security company.
On his first day on the job,he was so bored that he drew two pairs of eyes with a pen onto the painting—artist Anna Leporskaya's Three Figures(人物)(1932-1934),an artwork with three people who have no faces.
At that time, the painting was being shown at the Yeltsin Center in the city of Yekaterinburg,during an exhibition titled“The Birth of a New Art”. Visitors discovered that g were two of the three figures on the painting different. They told the situation to the center, which began to deal with it at once.
The painting was borrowed from the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, so the center returned the painting immediately and made it examined by an art restorer, whose job is to repair damaged artworks. Police have now caught the guard and are questioning him. It's said that the guard will be fined with £ 395.Besides,he will be in prison(監(jiān)獄) for about twelve months.
The damage,according to the expert at the State Tretyakov Gallery, can be fixed without any long-term damage to the artwork. The damage to the painting and cost of repairing has been said to take at least £ 2,470. It has been reported that the company where the guard worked is digging into its pocket.
